- Brush chips from the bed and clamp jaws
- Wipe the V-bit and check the tip under a loupe
- Check the plate clamp screws are not stripped

- Clean the Z-probe contact
- Check belts or screws for small play
- Replace any V-bit with a chipped tip

- Light lubrication per the maker's manual
- Check the bench is still level
- Back up the batch templates you use most

Local conditions
Asset tags for mines and municipal contracts often need specific sizes and stamped serial order. Build the batch file around the client's list, and check spelling of Afrikaans and isiZulu place names twice before cutting.
