Quarterly service visits

CNCPME

Owners outside Gauteng are asked to book early in the quarter so their visit fits a route week.

How the route weeks work

We know keeping a CNC router or engraver in top shape is a big deal, especially when your shop isn’t in Gauteng. Our quarterly service visits now run on organised route weeks, moving through the Free State, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and all the way to the Cape. We plan each route in advance to cover as many SME production floors as possible in one circuit. This approach keeps costs down, makes travel reliable, and means your machines get seen on a regular schedule.

When you book your visit early in the quarter, we slot your bay into a planned route. This way, your team isn’t left waiting, and you don’t have to pause production longer than necessary. Each visit covers the machines, dust extraction, electrical checks and general workshop essentials that are key for South African conditions, like load-shedding resets and keeping Highveld dust out of motors.

Who should book and what to expect

If you run a CNC PME machine outside Gauteng, whether it’s a small router in a shed outside Bloemfontein or a busy engraver in Durban, this service keeps you on the same maintenance rotation as our long-standing inner city customers. We encourage owners in outlying areas to book in the first weeks of each quarter to secure a spot on the next available route. It keeps things fair and helps us organise the job list.

When our technician arrives, they’ll work through the PME care routine: checking spindle runs, lubricating rails, inspecting controller wiring for wear, and going through your PM log with the operator. We also help with any municipal paperwork for electrical upgrades or layout changes, if it’s needed. You get a clear one-page report after the visit with any recommended spares or parts, so you’re not left chasing random part numbers.

  • Book by emailing cnc@cncpme.co.za with your location and model
  • Visits are planned once per quarter for each region
  • Service covers routers, engravers and dust extraction units
  • Technician support on-site, including basic operator training
  • End-of-visit report with action points and spares list

Why advance booking matters

Route weeks aren’t just about fuel and kilometres, they’re about making sure no workshop falls behind just because of distance. By booking early, you let us group visits efficiently, which means more face-to-face time with each team and less time fiddling with schedules. The earlier you’re on the route, the more likely you are to get your preferred week, especially during busy periods before year-end shutdowns or after school programme handovers.

Some shops miss its slot by forgetting to email until the last minute, which means waiting for the next quarter’s route. We’d rather see you on the floor than on a waiting list.

What happens during and after the visit

During each scheduled stop, our technician arrives with the basic PME tool kit and checks your machine according to your region’s needs. In Gqeberha, for example, we keep an eye out for coastal corrosion on aluminium rails. In Polokwane or the Free State, we’re always watching for dust buildup and heat stress on VFDs or power supplies. We look over your filters, cable trays, safety covers, and check how your team runs shutdown sequences, especially important with all the load-shedding.

At the end, you get a simple one-page report. It notes what we serviced, what needs attention, and lists any parts that should be ordered. We never want owners chasing a mystery problem, so we write it up in plain language. If your operator needs a recap on maintenance, we’re happy to run through the basics before heading to the next shop.

How to book your bay onto the route

To get your machine onto an upcoming route week, email cnc@cncpme.co.za with your site address, contact person, machine model and any recent issues. Tell us about your power supply (230 V or three-phase), your dust control setup, and any workshop changes since the last visit. The more detail you send, the better we can prepare.

These route visits support everything in our essentials and floors catalogues, so we can help with machine care, upgrades and parts supply in one stop. For more information on regional service or to see notes from past visits, check our press releases or see the coastal booth notes for advice from shops working in salty air and high humidity.
