Service first floor
Alignment, belts, and consumables before buying the next machine.

Essentials on this floor
Runbooks to keep nearby
Before you buy the next machine
Owners often want a second router when the first one starts giving trouble. Very often the first machine needs alignment, belts and bearings, not replacing. A service-first approach gets the existing machine right before spending on another.
What a reset looks like
Square the gantry, replace tired belts, check spindle runout, surface the spoilboard and set up lubrication on a schedule. Most machines cut noticeably better afterwards.
Then decide
With the first machine running well, you can see whether you really need more capacity, or whether better scheduling and fewer stops were the answer.
Who runs this floor
Owners whose first machine has started to give trouble and who are thinking about buying another.
A typical week
A service visit first, then two or three weeks of normal work to see how the machine runs before any buying decision.
The gear, in one line each
- Service Quarterly: Quarterly alignment and belt service plan for routers and engravers.
- Spindle Care Set: Collets, grease, and runout checks for daily spindle care on SA floors.
- Parts Fast Bin: High-turn belts, switches, and bearings kept on the shelf for SA floors.
Next step
Open the essentials above for specs, layout and care, and keep the runbooks nearby. When you are ready, email cnc@cncpme.co.za with your city, a floor sketch and the floor name in the subject. See projects for shops that ran a similar floor.
