The brief
A failed limit switch stopped the machine for four days while a replacement came by courier.
What we did
- Set up a wall-mounted fast bin with belts, switches, bearings and fuses
- Made laminated kanban cards
- Named the workshop foreman as bin owner
- Wrote night-shift rules for which parts may be fitted alone
How it turned out
The next switch failure was fixed in twenty minutes from the bin.
