Bloemfontein

Bloemfontein service week

Alignment and belt plan before a new spindle buy.

The workshop

A cabinet shop in Bloemfontein planning to buy a new spindle.

The brief

Cut quality had dropped and the owner assumed the spindle was worn out.

What we did

  • Ran a full alignment and belt check
  • Replaced two glazed belts
  • Checked runout, which was within limits once the collet was replaced
  • Surfaced the spoilboard

How it turned out

The spindle was fine. With alignment and belts sorted, cut quality returned and the spindle purchase was cancelled.
