The workshop
A steel fabrication shop in Gqeberha making brackets and frames for the auto component trade and local farms.
The brief
Repeat bracket orders took most of a morning to set up each time, and edge quality varied.
What we did
- Installed a compact plasma table in a separate bay
- Built fixtures for their five most common brackets
- Set up a consumables kanban with a dated lid
- Added an air filter at the table
How it turned out
Repeat orders now start within minutes, and parts go to the welders with far less grinding.
