Floor
Furniture nest floor
Full-sheet nests for cabinet shops with dust and tooling discipline.

Essentials on this floor
Runbooks to keep nearby
Full sheets every day
Cabinet and furniture shops cut melamine-faced board, MDF and ply in full sheets. The floor is planned around the sheet: loading, nesting, unloading, edging and offcuts, with as few steps as possible between them.
Dust is the hidden job
A busy nesting router produces alot of fine dust. Extraction must be sized for the bed, filters changed on a schedule, and the floor swept daily. Fine MDF dust is a health issue, not just a mess.
Tooling discipline
Compression bits for faced board, a clear dull lane in the foam, and a Friday audit keep edge quality consistent. A chipped edge on a kitchen door is a remake.
Who runs this floor
Cabinet makers with a router operator, an edging person and someone assembling.
A typical week
Sheets are nested and cut in the morning, edged after lunch and assembled the next day. Dust is swept and filters checked every afternoon.
