Floor
Metal bracket cell
Plasma and fixtures for small bracket and frame shops.

Essentials on this floor
Runbooks to keep nearby
A cell for steel
Bracket and frame shops live on mild steel from 1.6 to 12 mm. A compact plasma table with a fixture plate and a well-stocked consumable box turns cut lists into weld-ready parts without a grinder queue.
Layout and safety
Keep the plasma well away from any wood router, ideally in its own bay. Fit fume extraction over or under the table, mount a fire extinguisher where you can reach it, and keep the sheet trolley on the loading side. The air dryer and filter go at the table, not only at the compressor.
Repeat orders
Gate hinges, base plates and gussets repeat constantly. Save each one as a nest with a cut chart and a fixture photo. When the order comes back, the cell runs in minutes rather than an afternoon.
Who runs this floor
A fabricator or two, with welders downstream who notice every bad edge.
A typical week
Cut lists come in the day before. The table runs batches in the morning and the welders pick up parts after lunch. Consumables are checked at the start of each shift.

Next step
Open the essentials above for specs, layout and care, and keep the runbooks nearby. When you are ready, email cnc@cncpme.co.za with your city, a floor sketch and the floor name in the subject. See projects for shops that ran a similar floor.
