Pretoria
Pretoria TVET bay
Shared tooling trays timed to TVET class periods.
The workshop
A TVET college workshop in Pretoria sharing one router across several groups.
The brief
Bits went missing, dull tools stayed in use, and nobody knew who had closed the machine last.
What we did
- Built one labelled tool tray per group in shadow foam
- Wrote a period plan card for 40 and 60 minute lessons
- Trained two lecturers on the close-down routine
- Added a weekly tray audit with a student owner
How it turned out
Missing tools became rare, and lecturers could start a lesson without first hunting for a working bit.
