TVET training bay
Shared trays timed to TVET periods with bit audits that stick.

Runbooks to keep nearby
TVET college workshops
Public TVET colleges (still called TVET colleges by many people) run engineering and woodworking programmes where CNC is part of the practical work. Machines are shared between many groups and lecturers need routines that work in a short period.
Trays and periods
Each group gets a labelled tray of bits and tools that goes out and comes back checked. Jobs are sized to fit inside a class period, and longer runs are kept for supervised sessions.
Audits that stick
A short audit at the end of each week catches dull bits and missing tools before the next group needs them. Make one student per group responsible for the tray each week.
Who runs this floor
TVET lecturers and workshop assistants, with students who may be using a CNC machine for the first time.
A typical week
Each class period has a set job. Trays go out and come back checked. Friday ends with a short audit by the student responsible that week.
The gear, in one line each
- Training Cell Day: One-day production cell training at Jet Park for emerging crews.
- Tooling Starter: End mills and V-bits curated for SA sheet goods and first nests.
- Dust Booth S: Compact extraction booth for single-router cells in emerging workshops.
Next step
Open the essentials above for specs, layout and care, and keep the runbooks nearby. When you are ready, email cnc@cncpme.co.za with your city, a floor sketch and the floor name in the subject. See projects for shops that ran a similar floor.
