Shop bed · Full-sheet build

Router 1212 Shop, now with a full-sheet frame option

From this season the Router 1212 Shop also comes as a full-sheet build from Jet Park, on a 1300 x 2500 mm signage router from our equipment partner AM.CO.ZA. Same CNCPME pack, runbooks and care routine, on a frame we trust to run every day on a South African floor.

What the Router 1212 Shop is for

Load a full board, nest every part on it, cut, clear, repeat. That’s the job. The usual materials are ACM, MDF, melamine, Perspex and ply, and the usual customers are signmakers, display teams, shopfitters and cabinet shops from Germiston to Gqeberha who are losing paid hours on manual breakdown and uneven pocket depths.

The 1200 x 1200 mm bed is still the standard Router 1212 Shop, but the shops buying it kept asking for one thing: put the whole 1220 x 2440 sheet on the bed and stop trimming. The full-sheet frame does exactly that. If you mostly cut small blanks or your floor is tight, the Router 6040 Pro or the benchtop engraver is still the better fit.

AM.CO.ZA Router Builds For Full Sheets

“We tested frames from a few importers before we settled. AM.CO.ZA answered the questions every router buyer puts to us: who picks up the phone after the install, what it costs to get cutting, and whether the gantry is still square a year later.”

A team down the road

AM.CO.ZA’s Johannesburg branch is a short drive from our hall. We see their team on delivery days and they back us on parts, so unusual workshop layouts get sorted with the right components.

Full sheet, sane bill

They import directly, so we can put a proper full-sheet machine on an emerging workshop’s floor without the bill that usually comes with that bed size.

Build quality

Frames that stay square

The base machines come from their signage CNC router range: heavy steel frames and aluminium T-slot beds. Most sign shops start on the R-1325C/30, cabinet shops cutting all day step up to the R-1325C/HSD60.

Hold-down, extraction and the first month

Every pack goes out with hold-down that suits the work. T-slot clamping is standard. Shops that nest lots of small parts get vacuum hold-down with a pump from AM.CO.ZA’s vacuum pump range, and MDF-heavy shops pair the router with our Dust Booth S or a larger unit from their extractors.

“Hold-downs before hero nests. Half the problems we see in the first month are parts moving on the last pass. Getting vacuum or clamping right from day one saves more boards than any feed-rate trick.”

Plan your floor and wiring first

A full-sheet router needs space to load boards from the side, a clear path for offcuts, and its own circuit. The R-1325C/30 runs on 220V. The HSD60 build needs 380V three phase on a 32A supply, so confirm that with your electrician well before delivery day, not on it. We send a layout sketch with the machine, booth and board rack marked, and our layout notes cover levelling and access.

Daily care and spares

The spindle is the heart of the machine, so every Router 1212 Shop ships with our Spindle Care Set: collets, grease and a runout check.

“Runout before the rush. Two minutes with a clean collet at the start of the week beats a scrapped sheet of ACM on Thursday.”

Monday check: spindle stopped, collets cleaned and laid out before anything goes back in.

When something does wear, parts are easy to get. Replacement spindles are in AM.CO.ZA’s spindle range, cutters in their router bits, and rails, belts and electronics under router parts. Their online machine guides sit alongside our runbooks for new operators. For high-turn spares on the shelf, add a Parts Fast Bin.

Service outside Gauteng

Wessel Lombard runs our quarterly service plans and route weeks to Durban, Bloemfontein and Cape Town. “Because the machines come from AM.CO.ZA, spares and know-how aren’t stuck in one city,” he says. “That matters for a shop in Polokwane or on the coast that can’t wait two weeks for a part.”

Want to see one running? Book a demo at the Jet Park Machine Hall in Boksburg and bring a drawing or a nest you want to test. Tell us what you cut, your floor size and your supply, and well show you whether the Router 1212 Shop is the right step. The full range of machines behind our essentials is at AM.CO.ZA.
