Floor
Plate and tag cell
Benchtop engraving for plates and tags beside production nests.

Essentials on this floor
Runbooks to keep nearby
Small parts, big batches
Engraved plates and tags are steady work: asset tags, valve tags, door signs, trophy plates. A benchtop engraver with a multi-blank fixture can run a batch of fifty while the operator does something else nearby.
Accuracy is the product
Clients notice a misspelt name or a wrong serial much more than a slightly rough edge. Build checking into the batch: print the list, tick each tag, and have someone else read the file before you cut.
Keep it beside the router
Running the engraver beside the main router lets one operator keep both busy. Keep separate bits and trays so the two machines never borrow from each other.
Who runs this floor
One person who handles engraving, often alongside other work at the router.
A typical week
Batches are set up in the morning, checked in blocks, and packed in the afternoon with the client list ticked off.
